Many of you know that I work two jobs right now to make ends meet and keep my sanity. I teach children and teenagers in the day and then I bar tend at night. It often drains me by the end of the week and causes my wife to worry more than she should. When I first heard this track I felt chills rush down my back and my whole body felt cold.
I couldn't tell anyone of you how many times I've thought I saw something in the road or coming towards the road when there wasn't anything there. I seriously have seen the types of things that they talk about on this track. I know most of it is because I was tired but at the same times I drive home at 3 AM for at least 45 minutes every night on one of the deadliest stretches of highway CA has to offer.

Tech N9ne "Leave Me Alone"
I know I've been away for a minute but please, leave me alone with all of the questions as to why; as if I really needed to explain why I hadn't posted in a minute to people only here to leech rather than support the movement. For those of you who truly cared, my Rapidshare account has been acting up and event hough it doesn't expire for another couple of weeks, giving me more than enough time to extend the account, they closed it down and I had to fight to get them to re-open my account. This is the second time it has happened and had it not been for the fact that my entire online collection is through Rapidshare I would've switched to MegaUpload or Zshare a long time ago.
While contemplating what to do with the blog, I was bumping the new Tech N9ne album "K.O.D." and one song in particular stood out to me to express my feelings. That song is none other than "Leave Me Alone."
So without further adieu, here it is, check it and respect it...

This album came out a year after Swoop G's first release through a bigger label with a bit more promotion and an updated tracklisting. There are several tracks on this release that were also on his debut. The newly added tracks smash just as hard and make this worth picking up. This album is definitely a slept on Westcoast classic from one of Tha Row's heaviest hitters during their second dynasty. Hearing this album only makes me wish that Tha Row had their act together well enough to have put this man's music out when the timing was right rather than shelving it indefinitely like so many other artists. I'm praying that WideAwake makes some smart business decisions to release his lesser known works as well...
Within this album are several blatant and subliminal diss tracks aimed towards his ex friends and associates, The Dogg Pound. If you listen to the remix of the "Not to be fucked wit" track you will hear him call out Tha Dogg Pound, as well as some others within their circle who he felt had betrayed him. You'll also hear a great classic "riding" verse from Lil C Style on the Bustas remix. You'll hear almost the same verse on the "Easy to be a soldier" track from the Chronic 2000 compilation but to my knowledge this was official and that verse was merely mixed into the other track as this one came first. Also, the 2Pac track "World don't take me personally" is as official as it gets. It's not just a scrapped Pac verse that was gaffled and used for an increase in sales...
Here's the tracklisting:
1. Feet Up (featuring Black Rain)
2. Not To Be Fucked With (Ryder version)
3. I Do Need You

Recorded for Handlebar Records (via Bay Area rapper The Gov) during his time associated and affiliated wityh Death Row Records, this was the first of two releases to come from Young Swoop G. His most notable tracks off of this album are "Not to be fucked wit," and "The Mob." He is most known for his work with Death Row. In fact, from what I read in an interview with Swoop G, it was tracks that suge heard from this album that made Suge wanna sign him to a deal in the first place to be the next artist on Death Row to carry out their beefs. His biggest single ever released was a collaboration track with Snoop Dogg called "Head Doctor."

Baby Down "Pushin a Cold Line"

While searching on the net for everything and anything Tangled Thoughts that I can get my hands on I came across this banging tape put together by an artist known as Baby Down. He sounds very similar to Jayo Felony with his flow and delivery. The beats supplied are comprised of West coast classics and remixes of existing beats that were popular when the CD was released back in 2007. Nonetheless it still bangs hard today because the beats were timeless.

I can't say enough about this album. It's not hip hop or pop or rock or anything that can fit in any one genre. This album is beautifully and meticulously crafted to work cohesively from one track to the next. The beats are minimal and the flow and delivery fall in line. However, the way the album was crafted deliberately led to this outcome. If you don't like it the first time around that's mostly because your opinions on the :Day N Nite: track as a stand out track when it was merely meant to get your attention rather than serve as the foundation for the concept of the album. If you don't like it the first time around, shelve it and give it a listen later. It truly may be years ahead of it's time...
Here's a review courtesy of Amazon.com:
Kid Cudi is at the vanguard of a game-changing new generation of artists," said Universal Motown President Sylvia Rhone. "He crosses musical boundaries with an appeal that goes beyond genre, format, race, language, and culture. Cudi lives easily in the hip-hop, indie rock, pop, and R&B worlds - a diversity that shows in his innovative music and his all-embracing persona. He is a born storyteller who brings a positive, life-affirming message to his brilliant lyrical flow and compelling music.
There are no clichés in what Cudi does. He is a breath of fresh air - a dynamic and important new voice, not only in the next phase of hip-hop, but as a groundbreaking trendsetter who represents the future.
I am thrilled to welcome Kid Cudi into the Universal Motown family." KID CUDI released his first mixtape, A Kid Named Cudi, in July, 2008 as a free download sponsored by New York streetwear company 10 Deep, leading to an introduction and signing to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint, and in turn, to Cudi's co-writing of four tracks on the platinum Kanye West album 808s & Heartbreak, including the Top 5 single, "Heartless" and stepping out in a featured vocal on "Welcome to Heartbreak." He followed this up with his first Official single; "DAY N NITE" "day 'n' nite" dominated with #1 rankings at multiple radio formats..."
